Common questions

Are your stones natural?

Every stone is described in writing as natural or lab-grown, with any treatment such as heating or oiling clearly stated. If you want extra assurance, ask for an independent lab report.

Do you provide a certificate?

Yes, on request, from an independent gem testing lab. For small stones the report can cost more than the stone, so we will tell you honestly whether it is worth it.

Can I see a stone before visiting?

Yes. Message us on WhatsApp and we will send photos and a video of the stone in natural light.

Can you set the stone into jewellery?

We specialise in loose stones. Tell us what you have in mind and we will guide you on settings and sizes that suit the stone.

What should I send when I enquire?

The stone you want, the size or carat range, your budget, and what it is for: a ring, pendant, gift or collection. That is enough for us to shortlist options.

Why Jaipur

Jaipur is one of the world's great centres for cutting and trading coloured gemstones. Rough stones from Sri Lanka, Africa and South America pass through its workshops, and generations of families in its gem lanes have learned to judge colour, clarity and cut by eye.

Johari House is started by Saurabh, who is from Jaipur. The idea is simple: bring that way of buying stones to Bengaluru. Look closely, ask anything, and know exactly what you are paying for.

JohariHindi for jeweller, and the name of Jaipur's famous gem and jewellery bazaar.
Colour firstWe show stones in daylight and under a loupe, so the colour you see is the colour you get.
Straight answersNatural or lab-grown, treated or untreated, stated in writing on every stone.
